General Information about the Taiji Legacy

This is Grand Master Jimmy Wong the Tournament Promoter of the Taiji Legacy and the head of the USA Chin Woo Federation. He is known to his students as Sifu, just as most heads of Tai Chi and Kung Fu schools are. Grand Master Wong originally started his school in Houston, Texas but in 1983 he moved to Dallas where the school now resides. He teaches Northern Shaolin Kung fu, Tai Chi, Wushu, Acupuncture, Herbology, Qigong, Meditation, and Lion & Dragon Dance. He has an awesome memory and can learn a new form after only seeing it once. At each tournament he impresses the audience by introducing over 100 judges by memory.

The Taiji Legacy is a gathering of all styles of tai chi and kung fu from all parts of the world. It opens with a 72 foot, multi-colored, illuminated dragon and 8 lion dance, demonstration and performances by all major styles of taiji including demonstrations by nationally and internationally distinguished masters.

Last year’s competition had nearly 800 competitors and 3000 spectators. This year, they anticipate that 900 to 1000 competitors will be participating in this event. With the support from local and guest judges and officials (over 100), this tournament will be well-organized and run efficiently.

Held in Dallas, Texas, the Taiji Legacy is a "can't miss" event. It will be held in the spacious Plano Centre, conveniently located approximately 25 minutes from the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
